A jewelry packaging brief should record three separate requirements: how the item fits, what the buyer needs to do and how the order reaches that buyer. Resolve conflicts between those requirements before choosing the visual finish.
Product requirements
List the items and dimensions, the preferred orientation and the parts that need support. Identify what the sample must demonstrate rather than assigning a material solely from the jewelry price.

Buyer requirements
Describe the audience and the actual opening or gifting task. Include access, labeling or presentation needs that have been established for that audience. Avoid assuming that all buyers of one age or gender prefer the same colors or imagery.

Sales-channel requirements
For a store, explain how the pack is displayed and handled during a sale. For a delivered order, explain the outer packing and handling route. If the same design serves both channels, identify which requirements are shared and which need a separate pack-out.

Resolve the brief as a whole
Check the assembled sample against all three lists. For example, a display arrangement may need adjusting if it makes removal awkward. Document the decision so the appearance, interior and delivery arrangement are reviewed together.
