Turn a design reference into a brief by separating what you like about its appearance from the structure, fit and artwork your own jewelry requires. A photograph is a starting point for discussion, not a complete product specification.
Identify the useful detail
State whether the reference is useful for its overall shape, color relationship, opening style or arrangement of several boxes. Avoid asking to reproduce every element when only one is relevant to the project.

Add the missing requirements
Provide the jewelry dimensions and how the item should sit inside. Specify any need for separate formats across a collection. A pictured box set does not establish the number of formats, dimensions or included inserts for a new order.

Separate surface from construction
Record the desired visual result, then confirm the material and finishing method with the proposed sample. Appearance alone cannot identify a coating, lining or manufacturing process.

Review a project-specific sample
Compare the sample with both the reference and the written brief. Check fit, access and artwork at finished size. Approving a familiar-looking image does not confirm cushioning or suitability for shipment.
