Compare jewelry gift-box costs using the same item fit, artwork, quantity and delivery requirements. A lower unit price is not a complete saving if tooling, packing, freight or a different specification has been excluded.
Create a common quotation brief
List the structure, dimensions, proposed material, interior and artwork for every option. Ask which parts of the quotation change if one of those requirements changes. A paper construction is not automatically foldable, cheaper or suitable for the same handling conditions.

Separate fixed and quantity-dependent items
Identify design, tooling or setup items where they apply and confirm how they are quoted. Compare quantities against the actual requirement; a larger order should not be assumed to reduce the overall project cost or justify unwanted stock.
Include packing and delivery
Compare how the finished boxes are packed and the delivery terms used for each proposal. Confirm dimensions and quantities for the proposed shipping configuration. Do not infer a freight saving from the appearance of an individual box.
Evaluate a controlled alternative
If cost needs reducing, change one specified feature at a time and review what that changes for fit, appearance or handling. Approve the revised sample and written quotation together. Savings remain project-specific rather than guaranteed.
